TORONTO, Ont. – If you like the heat, this is your week.

While a heat alert has been cancelled for the City of Toronto, Monday, and it will be a little cooler on Tuesday, we will be sweltering again by mid-week.

We could have an official heat wave later in the week as the temperature creeps above 30 C and stays there.

CityNews meteorologist Adam Stiles says that humidex advisories may be in effect for Wednesday and carry into Thursday when, with humidity, the GTA will feel like it is 46 C.

Stiles said on Friday a cold front will be coming through but it should only lower temperatures to 32 C.

The temperature soared to 35.2 C on Sunday, making it the hottest July 17 on record, breaking the previous record high of 34.4 C set in 2002.

The heat spawned severe weather in Ottawa, as high winds caused the main stage at Ottawa Bluesfest to collapse.
